Title: Ike Quebec - Heavy
Soul
Rating: 4/5 Label: Blue Note A reissue of the 1961 Blue Note album. I am not an expert on jazz music, and probably unqualified when it comes to recommended jazz music. But as an audiophile recommending good sounding CDs, I can recommend this title with confidence. This recording is natural and realistic. Although the says "Heavy Soul", the recording is not heavy soul jazz, but rather soulful and sentimental in nature.

Title: Ben Webster & Associates Rating: 4/5 Original recording remastered.
Label: Verve Music I heard this title at the home of a fellow audiophile. His set up consist of a Revox player, an AR / CJ setup driving a pair of Maggies. When track number 5 "Budd Johnson" was played, I was stunned. It was like Ben Webster was standing right in front of me, his sound room was turned into a jazz bar. Ben Webster's warm and luscious saxophone, sends a powerful blissful tone straight into your heart. It will move your spirit and mellow your soul, highly recommended.
