Stereopal Home Visit:       Tommy from Richmond Hill                                                                                 Date: Sept 29, 2005

Visiting Mr. T was a totally different experience.   Seldom do you see so many expensive gears all in one room.  He cannot describe to you the sound of his system, because  Mr. T switches speakers or amps depending on the type of music he listens too.

There were at least 6 sets of nice speakers, 3 sources, and 5 amplifiers in his dedicated sound room.    Not to mention the vintage McIntosh collector's MC275 1st edition.  I guarantee you he's got more nice gears than any Audio Shop in town at any point in time.   This is only a portion of Mr. T's collection.  Many are not shown or listed here.

Mr. T enjoys vocals & classical music.    Mr. T do not want to disclose his real name for obvious reasons.  But you can be sure I'll visit Mr. T again very soon.

Mr. T's Comments:

General Comments:

"I cannot accurately describe to you what I like.   As you can see, my equipment sits on wheels, I switch speakers or amplifiers frequently depending on the music I am listening to.

Generally, I prefer analogue to digital.   When I listen to vocals, I tend to use my VAC tube amps more often as the sounds are sweeter and more musical.   But for huge ochestral performances, I'll hull in my 300 lbs Boulder amplifier to get more kick.

So far, I haven't found any SACD player which I like, I have had many of them but they're all digital sounding to me.   I prefer redbook CD players."

Future Plans:

I honestly cannot say "I am done".   My system is always changing, and I am hauling in new equipments frequently."

While I was visiting Mr. T, we hauled in another pair of speakers.   According to Mr. T, the Avalon is more natural and more musical

when compared with the TAG McLarens.  He liked the Avalon better.   He is planning to use the TAG for home theater.

(while I plan to use a $ 199.00 7 Channel system I bought from Costco for my home theatre).

Beautiful collectors item on display, the MC275 1st edition, Gold edition & the Gryphon Preamp.

Krell Reference CD Transport, Boulder Preamp

dCS DAC, and Jeff Rowland Preamp which runs on batteries.

Beautiful VAC Preamp, the VAC logo lights up in Blue.

Equally gorgeous, VAC monoblock with EL34 tubes.

Beautiful VPI Turntable, with The Frog cartridge.

Mark Levinson Reference CD Transport

Mark Levinson Reference DAC

Cool looking Boulder Preamp.  The look certainly makes a bold statement of its own.

These Boulder amps weights over 250 lbs.  The Jeff Rowland are slightly smaller, but certainly more than I can lift.

How often do you get to A/B  TAG McLarens, Eggleston & Avalon speakers all on the same day ?

When I have change to spare, I go out and buy a CD.   When Mr. T has change to spare, he goes out and buy a pair of Eggleston Works.

A closer look at the Krell Reference player again.

What a day at Mr. T's house..............
