then I'll use the turntable when it is time for serious listening."       ......... Luigi Raymund Lira

One look at Luigi's equipment and you'll know he's a big Audio Research fan.     You can also tell he's been an audiophile for a long time.

Luigi has got some very interesting equipments.  From a humongous power conditioner / isolation transformer, to the AR D250 Servo tube power amp.  These amps cost nearly $ 4500 USD back in the early 80s, and probably a lot more when purchased overseas.  In today's terms, the D250 would be a $ 30,000 dollar amplifier.   Just retubing all of Luigi's AR amplifier will cost most than an entire audio system.

I am always enthusiastic when I meet audiophiles from other countries.     I am looking forward to meeting Luigi in person if I should ever go to the Philippines.

Luigi's Comments:

I usually listen to jazz, rock and if the mood suites me, I may listen to classical music.

I seldom listen to CDs.  I use an old Rotel 855 w/ Audio Alchemy DAC to warm up my equipment,  then I'll use the turntable when it is time for serious listening.

The sound of my system is amp dependent, the sound of D79B bi-amped is lush, romantic, musical and laid back.  The D250 mark2 servo is neutral, analytical, detailed, and articulate.   It has lots of attack while maintaining a tube sounding midrange.

The Classic 150 monoblocks are very musical ,lush ,detailed, and non fatiguing.   It makes you want to listen to music the whole day.

In the future, I would like to upgrade my speakers and my CD player.  I would also like to acquire either an Audio Research

SP-8 or SP-11 to use as a reliever for my SP-10 Mark 2.

Thanks for looking.

Audio Research D250 Mk II Servo, with at least 24 tubes inside !   This amplifier is truly a collector's item, rarely seen nowadays.

One thing is certain, Audio Research last a long time.

Audio Research D79B, note the size and number of capicitors.

You want to see a power conditioner, we'll give you a power conditioner.  This "washing machine" means business.

Or may be there's a fridge inside, stocked with Heinekens and Coronas.
