Joes Comments:
General:
I am quite happy with the sound of my system, especially on
Vocal presentations. The
Dunlavys are able to produce powerful basses, and my speakers are relatively
easy to position.
I consider the weakness link to be the Preamp at the moment. I am also looking for new balanced cables, although I prefer the musicality of Cardas cables over other brands.
CDs or SACDs are no match for LPs. The Verdier turntable totally kicked the butt of the Sony SACD. Its not even close. I'm gonna sell the SACD and keep the turntable.
Future Plans:
I would like to purchase the Mark Levinson No. 25S so that I can
eliminate the use of the Phono Pre Amp.
Most Memorable Experience
I have had plenty of bad experiences.
I got ripped off on EBAY, and lost $ 1800 USD.
The Television got interested in my story, and they interviewed me on TV.
To this day, I still have not recovered the money.
When I purchased the Mark Levinson N26S, I
drove 10 hrs to NY and hit a deer on the way.
The car was totaled and I had to drive back with a rental.
Then I got lost and ended up in Montreal.
The whole trip took me 4 days of non-stop driving, it was a horrible
experience. So you can say my N26S cost me thousands of
dollar !
Tweaks
As you can see, Egg Cartons are used extensively as absorption
devices. They are cost effective &
work very well as to minimize wall reflections. Also, Madagascar Ebony blocks are used extensive.
They are very expensive, and work much better than other materials. |
