McIntosh Laboratory

McINTOSH ELECTRONICS + SPEAKER – ‘IMPRESSIVE DISPLAY’ .  This was a rather ‘impressive’ set up.  Multiple array of Amplifiers.  Build Quality was very good – up there – in the Burmester league.   However, I thought the sound wasn't too impressive......

Quad, Wharferdale

QUADS NEW ESL SPEAKERS [seen for the 1st time ever] + WHARFEDALE’s REFERENCE SPEAKER – JAPAN MARKET [HK & TAIWAN TOO !].  The set up was brand new – had not been ‘burnt in’, hence it did not sound great.  However the potential was evident.  A product to look out for in forth coming shows.

Argento Cables - Denmark

CABLES FROM DENMARK – ARGENTO.  Good cables – however very expensive and new models keep getting launched every 2nd quarter.  Consumer + Distributor / Dealer value gets eroded very soon.

Vitus Audio & ProAc

AMPLIFIER FROM DENMARK – VITUS AUDIO – HANS OLE VITUS [DESIGNER] http://www.vitusaudio.com/products/vitusproducts_poweramplifiers.asp

Great Electronics from Denmark.  The Proac D-100 was bi-amped with Vitus Audio’s SM-100 [US $’s 45,000/-]

PRE AMP FROM VITUS AUDIO [U.S. $’s 30,000/-] – SPEAKERS FROM U.K. – PROAC – D 100

 http://www.proac-loudspeakers.com/d100.php

Do not get mislead by the size of this speaker on the company’s web site.  It is really a very big speaker & needs an equally big room to be in a position to bring out its best.  Very clean and accurate sounding.
