Louis' comments:

After spending an evening at Mr. Law's home, I hereby declare that we at the Greater Toronto Area Audiophile Club (GTAA) are all normal and sane people.

Just to wet your appetite, I listened to 6 turntables and 10 different tonearms on a pair of $100,000 custom built REY Audio Studio Monitors of Japan with 15 inch TAD woofers, TAD horns and TAD tweeters. As if two 15 inch woofers are not enough slam, there is a pair of Wilson-Benesch Torus ($19,000 a pair) Infrasonic Generator (Subwoofer) made up of 4 x 18 inch subwoofers in an isobaric configuration.

The 6 tables are:

Pioneer Exclusive P3A, Audiocraft arm with Ortofon MC25
Platine Verdier, Kuzma Air Line linear tracking arm with Clearaudio Victory
Audiolabor (Now Brinkmann), Breuer Dynamic arm with Ortofon A90
Micro Seiki SX-8000, Dynavector 507 arm with Dynavactor 23R and SME 3012 with Grado mono cartridge
Micro Seiki RX-5000, Audio Technica AT 1503 arm with Ortofon MC3000 and Graham arm with Decca Super Gold
Micro Seiki AX-3, Chinese made Excellent Thinking arm with Denon 103R, Schick arm with Ortofon Classic AE and Fidelity Research 64S arm with Audio Technica 33PTG cartridge

All I can tell you is that I will have a hard time listening to the Earth Drum track or Stevie Ray Vaughan Tin Pan Alley track on my own system again. What a fun evening !!

Louis
